About Us

The Frock Shop is an iconic women's fashion store on the Kapiti Coast at Raumati Beach Village with over 20 designers, many of which are NZ designed.  We pride ourselves on supporting New Zealand designers and their creativity.

We launched the online shopping component of The Frock Shop in 2016, and we're excited to reach clients from beyond Kapiti.

Jude Riddell opened The Frock Shop in September 2001 having had a love affair and passion for clothes and fashion throughout her life as she navigated her way through successful careers of secondary teaching, social work and subsequently psychotherapy.

Meelee and Ed bought The Frock Shop in 2018 following Meelee's fifteen year career as a primary school teacher in Wellington while bringing up her three children. Their move to Kapiti in 2015 was bought about by a desire to live near the ocean and enjoy the relaxed lifestyle that Kapiti offers while still being close to the city.

Meelee's vision going forward is to provide high quality products that are sustainable that epitomizes the Kapiti way of life; nature, health and wellbeing, creativity - a balanced lifestyle that allows you to be the best you can be.
